Ithkuil Gloss → Prompt

Paste a morphological gloss, generate an LLM prompt, and copy it to an external model.

Introduction

This tool turns an Ithkuil gloss into a structured prompt for an external language model: each lookup token is expanded with definitions drawn from the grammar and lexicon, plus instructions to produce natural English. Browse the official example set or paste your own gloss; the site does not call any LLM API.

Methodology

Reference data comes from John Quijada’s New Ithkuil grammar and lexicon, organized into validated CSV tables (morphological categories, official example sentences, affix degrees, and lexicon entries). Automated checks verify that extracted wording appears in the source documents.

The prompt builder tokenizes the gloss. Quoted English stem labels (e.g. 'cat') pass through verbatim; labels after stemN slots resolve to lexicon meanings where curated. Type-qualified affix tokens paired with a degree digit (e.g. FEA2 + 5) pull degree-specific definitions extracted from the official affix document.
